Description

IT security attacks and incidents generate a financial damage of several billions euros per year solely for German companies. Increasing the security level when handling and exchanging sensitive information therefore gets more and more important especially in organization and companies.

In the focus of the TUM Secure Email and User Certification project, we investigate requirements and processes to increase communication security and privacy in organization and corporate environments. We develop state-of-the-research processes to issue and manage digital certificates with a strong focus on user convenience, usability, and organizational requirements.

The key findings of this research are transferred in the realization of the TUM Certificate Management System, an open and extensible platform for certificate management.
